Advocating for a Healthier Online Political Ecology
|
As the Internet has become the juggernaut that shakes all things economic, so has the Internet been as disruptive a force to politics as the previous revolutions in mass media: the printing press, radio and television broadcasting. But unlike those other revolutionary media, the Internet provides everyone the opportunity to produce their own words, to allow for instantaneous and permanent archiving, applications that can automate collaboration, indexing and combining everyones input. Within this revolution is the opportunity to create a common technological and political grammar for the Internet that can reduce the noise of ignorance and increase the possibilities of meaningful conversation. Advocating for a Healthier Online Political Ecology is a site/idea/wish that will focus on projects that will improve the ability of citizens and government to communicate productively. /s Daniel Bennett daniel@citizencontact.com Related Sites:
